The oil and gas sector saw a sharp rise in merger and acquisition activity in August, driven by an $11 billion deal for a stake in a Saudi Arabian gas processing facility.
According to S&P Global Market Intelligence, a total of 35 deals were recorded during the month, generating $29.3 billion in transaction value. This marked a significant increase from July, which saw 24 deals worth $5.3 billion, and August 2024, when 50 deals totalled $25.17 billion.
